Into the Dust
03:39
|
|||
How does one explain that the answers teach nothing at all
Questions in place serve to cradle the truth as it falls
Out of the dust it came
Into the dust you know it will return
Lessons in learning leave minds free to give and receive
Memories like scars leave the impressions that live in our speech
Out of the dust it came
Into the dust you know it will return

The Grove
04:00

I found my way into the grove
And now I know just where it goes
The roots in the ground hold my bones
The birds in the trees sing my soul
The mirror reflects all that's shown
If water is still the moon is shown
The mind like a river knows no home
But stillness i found inside that grove
The sunlight it shines upon all things
Without any thought of loss or gain
The morning it comes and we can see
The natural flow of night to day
Just as I let go I receive
The heart of this truth inside of me

Empty Sky, Quiet Mind
03:27

She was born of autumns revery
Body warm as copper kettle steam
Eyes of honey, earth and evergreen
Locks of twisted serpent dreams
Conscience clear as watermelon rind
Heart a swollen sweet potato vine
Here and now she chases fireflies
Empty sky, a quiet mind
Empty sky, a quiet mind
Clouds of thought dissolve in rhymes
Empty sky, a quiet mind
She reflects a vast simplicity
Singing songs with natures symphony
A child lives the sacred mystery
With muddy boots and scarlet cheeks
Conscience clear as watermelon rind
Heart a swollen sweet potato vine
Here and now she chases fireflies
Empty sky, a quiet mind
Empty sky, a quiet mind
Clouds of thought dissolve in rhymes
Empty sky, a quiet mind

Heaven and Earth
03:44
|
|||
Far away from the harvest
The ground contains out greatest need
A tiny shell that cracked and fell wed heaven and earth through a seed
Long before gestation
The body holds what no one sees
A spark that hides somewhere inside wed heaven and earth through a dream
Far away from the mother
The child longs for things unseen
We cut our ties and get lost so to find and wed heaven and earth at the seam
Long before reaction
The act is born of thoughts so deep
The mind that's blind to the breathless time sets heaven and earth out of reach

What Does It Mean
03:59
|
|||
Some may ask what do you mean
When they hear but are not told
But verse is like a mountain stream
Without a drink it's hard to know
Fruit falls from the vine
But only when it's ready
These words they are not mine
They come when hearts are steady
I can't speak to what is right
Only that which makes me sing
But a song is like the warmth of day
You need not ask what does it mean
Fruit falls from the vine
But only when it's ready
These words they are not mine
They come when hearts are steady
